Haters gonna hate, hate, hate... hate, hate....hate....

How many should I put?!?!?  I wasn't going to post anything "serious" today.  I did my remembrance on the 10 year anniversary and while I'll never forget, I wont rehash it every year.  With that said, OMG people are brutal!

I have no idea who this is, I just saw the screenshot
I don't think that is what that means.  First of all at least spell $hit right if you are going to be an @$$hat.  Second, you can't fix anything with hate.  That is ignorant and just makes everything 10 times worse.  Being hateful towards EVERYONE who happens to be Muslim/Middle Eastern because a few extremist went all ape$hit isn't going to fix ANYTHING!  This hurt.  To see that much seething hatred, it is unnecessary.  Of course we should NEVER forget.  It was a horrible day and many perished but you can't blame an entire religion or part of the world for the actions of a few.  Yes there are many who probably supported this action (and they are bad or misguided people, sorry) but there are also others who were horrified to be associated with it.  There are extremists in EVERY religion/culture.  There are Christians I'd rather not be associated with and I have to say all the time "not all of us think like that"

Then I saw this...
Yea it may not be beneficial to us to take in 10,000 refugees but that isn't really the point.  This statement isn't based on the problems caused by an influx of refugees, this is based on who and where the refugees are from. Where is your bible thumping bull$hit now?  Doesn't it say something about helping those less fortunate, in need, whatever.  These people seem to be in need.  Or should we turn our backs because they aren't the same religion?  Wouldn't you want the world to help us if something terrible happened here or would you want them to shut their borders and write us off as a total loss because we are "stupid Americans"

Of course this should be thought through very carefully...I mean the world economy is basically collapsing and taking on more people could be detrimental for any country. But the crazed hatred is still unnecessary.  Yes I know people who fought overseas after 9/11 and I know they suffered greatly because of some of the hateful people over there.  It's a f**ked up situation all around.  I just don't think using 9/11 as a "prop" is the way to go.

Do I want to endanger my country, its citizens?  Of course not! I just want us to get passed all the prejudice/racist/extremist bull$hit.

This song may not be about issues today (it is from 1992) but it sure hits home when you listen to it considering all the crap happening in the here and now.

We Shall Be Free by Garth Brooks

History of the song

I'ma post the lyrics too because they are meaningful to me.

This ain't comin' from no prophet
Just an ordinary man
When I close my eyes I see
The way this world shall be
When we all walk hand in hand

When the last child cries for a crust of bread
When the last man dies for just words that he said
When there's shelter over the poorest head
We shall be free

When the last thing we notice is the color of skin
And the first thing we look for is the beauty within
When the skies and the oceans are clean again
Then we shall be free

We shall be free
We shall be free
Stand straight, walk proud
'Cause we shall be free

When we're free to love anyone we choose
When this world's big enough for all different views
When we all can worship from our own kind of pew
Then we shall be free
We shall be free

We shall be free
Have a little faith
Hold out
'Cause we shall be free

And when money talks for the very last time
And nobody walks a step behind
When there's only one race and that's mankind
Then we shall be free

We shall be free
We shall be free
Stand straight, walk proud, have a little faith, hold out
We shall be free

We shall be free
We shall be free
Stand straight, have a little faith

We shall be free

Why do I get strange looks when in public?!?

My husband still claims me, so suck it all you haters!

So we went to the zoo.  No we didn't bring children, just us...two adults...that is not weird!  I love the zoo :)

Anyways, we were in the reptile exhibit and this happened:
So I said "Do y'all hear that?" *crickets* "No?  It's cool I speak Parseltongue. It's asking if we know 'Harry Potter'",  My husband laughed.  The girl across from me laughed...the others nearby rolled their eyes and gave me that "Oh my God what a freak" stare.  Geez, I was trying to be cute, get the stick out your butt!  The snakes are RARELY active so since this one was being all awake, I decided it was an appropriate time for a fandom reference.

Later on in another exhibit this happened:
I leaned over to the husband and said "I know they specialize in exotic creatures but this seems excessively dangerous!"  Again, he laughed.  So I *snorted* and *whispered* "Don't Blink".  But the people next to me gave us one of those "is she special or something" stares.  Obviously they don't know about the lonely assassins.  That and there was like crickets or something in here...possibly a snake but it was out of sight.

Also, after the zoo...well quite some time later I was home and singing in my yard while gardening when this lovely creature ventured out of its hiding spot, possibly proving that I do in fact speak Parseltongue
Me: "Ahhhh, what tha, *almost falls over in a fit of nervous giggles*"
Snake: *flicking tongue*
Me:  "soooo are you poisonous, you don't look poisonous...cuz we can't be friends if you are"
Snake: "Can you let me out of the box, please?"
Me: "Hmmm, maybe we'll just release you in the woods"
Snake: *hisss* "Fine, just don't chop off my head like you did my brother"
Me: "Oooo yea sorry 'bout that"

Seeeeeeeeeee I totally speak snake, that conversation totally did NOT happen in my head.

Opinions are like @$$holes...

...everybody's got one but you shouldn't share it with everyone.

Sorry but while I do agree that everyone has one, I do not agree that you should try to force yours on others.  Not everyone thinks the same...not everyone has the same plan.  What works for me, may not work for you.  That doesn't mean mine is wrong!

Point being if someone gets a dog you have ZERO right to criticize them.  It is their decision.  And just for the record, it does not change them wanting to have children!!!! How the flipping f**k does that even make sense in your head!?!?!  "Oh you got a puppy...looks like no kids for you." Seriously?!?!? Go suck on a lemon!

I swear if I hear "now you have THREE big dogs but aren't you trying to have kids" one more time I may go postal.  Yes, good observation...THREE...yay, you can count...here's a cookie.  And yes I want a child (may not be possible but that's a whole other issue)...why are these things mutually exclusive???  Can I not have a baby AND have dogs???  Is there some dictation from God saying you can't have a baby as long as you have fur babies???  I didn't get that memo from the Almighty.  Maybe that's why we can't get preggo...damn divine mail service losing my important notices *rolling eyes*

I just..it's bad enough there is nothing medically wrong with us and no boo boo...I don't need you getting on my case because I got a bleeping dog.  Be nice to me or I will train his little @$$ to pee on you!!! Just stahp!  If you don't want dogs (cats) in your house, fine but it is MY house.  I pay for it.  I can have a zoo if I want!!! If you don't like it, don't come over!  Oh wait you don't come over anyway because we live outside of your "comfort zone".  Newsflash, living 20 min down I-10 is not that freaking far!!!!! Okay fine, add in traffic and it can be 30 min, whatever!  Other peeps come visit and they live over an hour away!!!  BUT if you are going to be a jerk about my fur babies you can stay home.  It is their home, not yours.

Also,  dogs + a child (if that happens) does not mean the child will be in danger.  Honestly based on recent observations God help anyone that tries to harm me, my husband or my non-existent kid(s).  They won't have time to scream before two dogs and two cast rip them to shreds while the old man gases them into unconsciousness with his breath.

In other news just because one person has a "bad" experience with a specific breed being destructive doesn't mean mine will be.  We don't even know what he is for certain.  If he is a little jerk we will deal with it, it is called TRAINING, but I am not going to refuse a fur baby because he is of a certain breed.  That is racist...except with dog breeds...that is breedist!!!!

I just feel so attacked lately.  It is like I can't do anything right.  Except there is no right or wrong just someone's opinion on what they think is right for me.  Animals make me happy, buzz off!

UPDATE: OMG perfect timing.  Person called and gave me an earful about the stresses of having kids....my response "I already have kids.  They just happen to have fur and pee outside."

It is not 1920, at least last time I checked

If I am right, and I usually am, it is in fact 2015.  A time where we are not governed by the ridiculous standards of our grandparents (great grandparents) time.  Women are not just seen as an accessory for a man...they are their own people...with their own careers...with their own mind.  It hurts my brain every time I hear someone say something that sounds like it came out of the early 1900's.  I will sum it up...er, well list it out, below.  And note that I know this does not define everyone...I am just saying I have been shocked to hear such things in today's society.

1.) "Oh my God!  Did you hear she's pregnant???  She's not even married! Such a shame."

Um...first what does being married have to do with having a baby???????????  Last I checked it takes two to tango...why are we focusing on the woman here?  Who cares if there is or isn't a husband in the picture.  $hit happens people!  We are a free loving society...not many people wait till marriage to have $ex so quit being so judgmental. It isn't a shame.  What is a shame is it was probably completely unplanned which means a lot of things are going to change for her (and him).  They need our support not our sideways stares and hushed whispers.

2.)  "She got knocked up on purpose!"

Yes there are women who have done this but come on.  Accidents do happen ya know and again there was a guy there who had to contribute.  You think your sig other is trying to get PG on purpose wrap that $hit up son or don't sleep with her, you do have a say ya know.

3.)  "Well now they have to get married, for the baby."

Really...that is your take away here???  Sure lets force marriage on people who had a whoops.  Lets create a potential hostile situation where two people who maybe barely know each other or weren't meant to be married are coerced into it because their sexual exploits created a new life.  This just creates a higher divorce rate and a bad situation for the little one.  A baby does not equal must get married.  If at some point it happens, great, but don't force it because you are having a baby.

4.)  "Make an honest woman out of her."

I am going to nut punch you!  I am not even addressing this one further.

5.)  "You ruined my life!"

Wow!  While I understand having a child is a big deal...saying it ruined a life is going a bit far.  And again...you took part in this.  To make a baby you had to insert tab A into slot B.  It's not like she siphoned off your little swimmers without your permission or he put them in you without permission (forced sexual content excluded).  If you aren't ready to support another life, maybe you should have thought about that before you did the horizontal mambo.

6.)  "I pulled out, she must have cheated on me!"

WTF are you smoking?!?  Sex ed 101...pulling out doesn't work.  There is still a chance some can get through...this isn't her fault...man up!  Take some responsibility.

7.) "You can't keep it!" or "You have to keep it!"

They can do what they want...  I am not touching the pro life/pro choice debate with a 10 foot pole but I am saying if she does have the baby, adoption is a solution...if dad wants him/her okay but you can't tell her she has to keep it... just like you can't tell her she can't keep it.  He/she is her baby too...

8.) "I can't believe he is dating her...she has a child!"

While I understand when you are in your early twenties this can be a slight hindrance it shouldn't dictate whether or not you like a person.  So what if his sig other has child already, I can almost guarantee he isn't a virgin so he very easily could have fathered a child also, even though he hasn't (that we know of). Do not judge her because she has a child, just don't...we should be a forward thinking society..STOP!

a.) What kills me further is when said person decides he wants to marry this "harlot" and *gasp*
adopts her child.  Some people freak out...why?!?  I think that is very
sweet..admirable...treating someone else's child as your own.

b.)  Also, for some reason when the situation is reversed the guy is seen as almost a hero. "He
has a child.  He is clearly a good man if he is so involved in his child's life."  There isn't the
same stereotype for him (sometimes there is but not usually).

Single dad = hero, single mom = whore...
what the actual f**k...just no.

Maybe it is just in the Deep South but I doubt it.  Life isn't easy...add a kid to it and it gets even harder but we should NOT be judging people based on this.  There are so many other more important situations we can focus on instead of whether or not a woman happens to have a child out of wedlock.

Shut up! Just shut up, shut up, shut up, shuttity up-up-up!!!

I think you should listen to the Doctor, it could save your life...from angry me!

Remember that opinion thing...everyone is entitled to one but just because you have one doesn't mean you should voice it.  Yea I need this printed on a note card so I can slam it into people's faces when they have a stupid because I had more than one person (actually 4 to be exact) over the course of a week say something about "pet owners" and I almost lost my $hit.

Let me learn you something.  Just because you don't like animals OR certain kinds of animals doesn't mean they are "bad".  This isn't about "viscous breeds" either.  This is about all animals...mainly CATS!  Yes, cats are @$$holes.  No really, you correct them and they look at you like "biotch please".  But just because someone has cats doesn't mean A) they jump on the counter willy nilly 2) they are on said counter during food prep and C) or 3) all our food products contain cat fur!

Just because you have seen on TV that crazy people horde cats (and dogs) and live in filth or let their cats do whatever does NOT mean all animal owners are like this.  My cats are so scared to jump on the counter because they have been sprayed or had things thrown at them.  I am not dumb, when I am not there it is possible they get up on the counters but that just means I am more diligent about cleaning the counters. Its called a Clorox wipe and they get used frequently in my house. Seriously though, saying "I found out she had a cat and I immediately thought, 'oh God I am eating cat fur'" makes you sound like an idiot and it's rude.  Owning a pet does not mean filth! Do you know how hard it was for me to NOT respond to this.  Just smile and nod, smile and nod, don't be a bitch, whooosa, 1...2...3.

I think my fav moment happened a few moments ago when someone was bitching about this exact thing for the fourth time in just a few days.  I was done.  The first I just ignored and shrugged and let it go.  This person though really pushed a button....so I waited till they were ooing and ahhhing about my baked goods, then I said "FYI, I should mention I have a cat...actually 2 but don't worry I only let them lick the spoon once while I was cooking".  This got me a horrified look and a lecture about allergies and how "that's not funny, I could die." Yea yea yea, well you haven't yet and I've been baking gifts for at least 8 years.  Therefore, I clearly keep a clean household, you haven't eaten a cat fur yet, so stop stereotyping cat owners!

My point is its effing Christmas, stop being a jerk! You know (everyone knows!) I am an avid animal lover so quit bad mouthing people who have pets because I am sitting right here @$$hole and no matter what you say I am taking it as being directed at me.  Ungrateful *grumble grumble grumble*, maybe I just wont bake gifts for you next year.  Only for people who seem to appreciate it :P

**UPDATE** I am very aware of how bad cat allergies can be, that is why I am so cautious.  I am not insensitive to allergies, much the opposite but I am fed up with people being jerks.

This is why we can't have nice things

Or this is why we have so much fun...depends on how you look at it.

Going out to a nice restaurant is something an over 30 year old should be able to do without incident.  And for the most part that does happen.  But for some reason my husband and I turn into giggly 8 year olds sometimes and the results get us judge-y stares.  It doesn't help that we look very young.

We were behaving quite normally at our most recent outing until the appetizer came out.  We are both fairly adventurous eaters. We will try most new things, especially seafood things.  So imagine how happy we were when we found out the special that night at this "fancy" place was barnacles.  Yea I said barnacles.  I have NEVER...NEVER EVER thought hey you know that algae covered thing on the bottom of a boat, yea lets eat it!  But our waitress seeing our confused looks quickly clarified that these are "gooseneck barnacles" and are from the pacific northwest area.  They grow on rocks that jut out into the ocean, not on the bottom of things in the harbor.  Okaaaaaaay, sure why not...anything sauteed in butter has got to be good, right???

Then they came out and that was it.  The maturity level at our table plummeted.  Thank GOD we waited until our waitress finished explaining how to eat them before dissolving into a fit of giggles.  True story, first thing I did was pick one up and say "*snicker, snicker* it looks like a *suppressed giggle* it looks like a tiny wrinkled deformed wee wee *snort* in a dragon scale!!!!!!!!!!!!".  I have quite an imagination.  But for reals, you have to see that they look a little, uh, questionable...

Seriously,

 could you....
  have kept...
 a straight face?!!??!
Come on man!

**NOTE** These are not my pics.  I had to internet search some because I didn't want to get more weird looks from the snoots at the restaurant by taking pics of my phallic looking food.

By the way you eat them kinda like a crawfish.  In the sense that you "pinch the hard tip" (like pinching the tail) and "pull gently on the meat with your teeth".  You would have lost it as well, don't lie, you have the same dirty mind I have!

By the way, they were totally delicious!  A little weird at first but yummy none the less.

This should have been the end of our adventure...nope!  We got our meal (also delicious) and on top of my amazing duck breast was some fried fat/skin.  Yea buddy, who don't love some cracklin.  But it was HUGE!!! I mean, waaaaaaay more than a mouthful so I had to cut it in half and then in half again.  Have you ever tried to cut a fried piece of fat/skin????  I was trying to be careful....adding a little more pressure with the knife, trying to be subtle.  When suddenly the knife slipped making a loud clattering noise and half my cracklin went shooting across the table.  "Doh!".  I said "*eep* uh, slippery little sucker", which got a giggle from my husband and an evil glare from the table next to us.  What?!?!  I'm just happy my hubs got the pretty woman reference, although he did steal the rogue piece of cracklin.

Not everyone was giving us evil looks.  I think most thought we were an adorable couple but a few peeps were definitely looking down their noses at us.  Eh, whatever, at least we have fun!!!

Why can't adults WITHOUT kids appreciate Halloween???

Halloween is by far my favorite holiday.  It always has been, since I was a wee little one.  I've never really paid much attention to those who always say "grow up" but lately they've been irritating me more and more.  Not because I need to "grow up" but more so because they need to "lighten up"!  Growing up does not mean having to stop enjoying life, geesh.

I consider myself a fairly mature person...well depending on the company I keep...add a couple of my friends and all bets are off.  Anyway, I find it hilarious that some feel that my need to decorate and dress up for Halloween insinuates I am immature but only because I do not have children.  Once I have kids I am free to have fun again BUT only for the children...not for me.

Does this make any sense?  So are you telling me that those who decorate and celebrate Christmas need to grow up also...I mean if they don't have kids why put up a tree and exchange presents???  No this doesn't make any sense.  Yes, of course, it is magical for children (holidays in general) but just because you are an adult doesn't mean you have to stop appreciating the magic.  I am not going trick or treating...well I am but its with kids...I'm not trick or treating alone, I am not that crazy.  I decorate my house to look "spooky".  I dress up in costume to hand out candy.  The parents seem to love it so why all the hate??? Also, in case you haven't caught on, I do it because I enjoy it!  I like walking into my house all during October and seeing pumpkins and skeletons and spiders..."Oh my!"  I also find it hilarious that a black cat is terrified of the decor but the other animals are all "meh"

So screw off all you haters.  I love Halloween and if I want to decorate and dress up and carve pumpkins, I will!  Not because I am immature but because it is something I enjoy.  If you don't like it blow me :P  I will continue having my fun and you can continue being boring.  I personally think on some level you are jealous because I still know how to have fun and you have succumbed to the pressures of society to be like everyone else.  Have "fun" with that, NOLAGurl out.
