Most people will say life gives them Lemons at some point in their life, and the common response is "Make Lemonade". Well I want to say I am tired of making lemonade! Why can't life give me a better 'fruit'?
I hope you can learn something or at least be amused by some of the off the wall things that happen in my life.
I will also post random product reviews, movie reviews, book reviews, etc...I am a random person and like to keep all my lemons in one place.
I don't really trust patches. I had a horrid reaction to a Vitamin B patch and my hubs used too strong of a nicotine patch years ago when he quit smoking and thought he was going to die. Both left horrible red marks on our arms.
Anywho the idea of a patch giving much necessary boosts or rest without a shot or pill sounds Ah-mazing. Buuuut I have a minor fear of enclosed spaces and don't want to be locked in a never ending motorway for 24 years or whatever.
Only to be possible food for giant crab creatures who are mutated from the exhaust in the enclosed area.
12 hours is my limit in a vehicle...I need a bathroom and trashy gas station snacks!
Side note - I love Martha....I still don't get why she got so much hate back in the day!
My brain sometimes does things that make me laugh hysterically...which can make me look a tad bit nutty when I'm in public. I was listening to the radio and heard a song. A song I've heard a hundred times...but this time my brain did a thing...
"I'm Already There" - Lonestar
He called her on the road
From a lonely cold hotel room - Those are the worst
Just to hear her say I love you one more time
But when he heard the sound
Of the kids laughing in the background
He had to wipe away a tear from his eye
A little voice came on the phone
Said "Daddy when you coming home"
He said the first thing that came to his mind - Awwwwww *tear* isn't that SWEET!
I'm already there - Oh...um okay......
Take a look around - Seriously, Where....where are you....?
I'm the sunshine in your hair - That's nice
I'm the shadow on the ground - if Doctor Who has taught me anything its don't trust shadows!!!
I'm the whisper in the wind - OMG The Trees are talking!!! Don't put on the headband!!! The forest is ALIVE!
I'm your imaginary friend - If the Exorcist has taught me anything its that Imaginary friends are usually DEMONS!!!!
And I know I'm in your prayers - a tad presumptuous.
Oh I'm already there - Creeeeepy!
She got back on the phone
Said I really miss you darling - Aw
Don't worry about the kids they'll be alright - Isn't that a movie?
Wish I was in your arms - Daaaaaw
Lying right there beside you - Brown chicken brown cow!!!!
But I know that I'll be in your dreams tonight - Oh ho ho ho naughty naughty!
And I'll gently kiss your lips - Wait...wait...are we phone sexing...?
Touch you with my fingertips - This is really sounding like phone sexing....
So turn out the light and close your eyes - OMG YOU ARE TOTALLY PHONE SEXING!!!!
I'm already there - well good for you, I need a little longer
Don't make a sound - Yea because the kids will think mommy is being murdered!
I'm the beat in your heart - is this a metaphor for a pulsating...never mind
I'm the moonlight shining down - Mood lighting!
I'm the whisper in the wind - yea, whispering "sweet nothings" through the phone...
And I'll be there until the end - Well you better stay till she's done!
Can you feel the love that we share - excuse me sir, this is getting inappropriate!
Oh I'm already there - do you have to keep reminding me...?
Theres another chorus but you get the gist. Why am I like this?!?!? I've always thought this was the sweetest song. Now whenever I hear it, I'll only be able to think naughty things.
SIDE NOTE - I still love this song and think its a beautiful song. I just had a moment of immaturity, that was so funny to me, I thought I'd share.
Okay some newer cartoons are fun but the old ones man...those are the best...maybe because as an adult I catch things and go "oh my god!". So many hidden things that my little child brain didn't quite grasp.
Animaniacs and Tiny Toon Adventures were pretty famous for that. Then you had the "older teen" cartoons like Beavis & Butthead and Ren & Stimpy. But don't forget Courage the Cowardly Dog and Rocko's Modern Life. Soooooo many to choose from.
So I am not actually gonna reference a "dirty"
reference today but just one that makes me and my friends giggle. Way
back when, when we were younger there was a scene in one of the above
mentioned TV Shows. My group references it fairly often as a joke so it almost comes as second nature now.
We were at a thing and one of the little ones kept getting 'dirty' so their mom kept wiping their hands/face off. To the point where we were like "dude just leave it, they are fine". At one point mom did it like 4 times
in a row. Kid picked up chalk, mom wiped off hands. Kid picked up
chips, mom wiped off hands. Kid picked up other kids toy, mom wiped off
hands. Look I get it you don't want the little one sick but good lord!
Anyways, at one point she was doing this and I said *sounding like Woody Allen* "Turn the page, wash your hands. Turn the page, wash your hands."
Only
one person got it and it was my relative because we watched the show
together. We were giggling like idiots and everyone else was like "WTF...?". So I said:
"Its Filbert". *blank stares*. "You know the turtle dude from Rocko's Modern Life..." *confused stares*. "OMG y'all come on! Rocko...the Wallaby...came on Nickelodeon..." *You are weird stares*
Seriously?! Showed the below:
The kids mom "Oh, that show was dumb, I never watched it".
So I wore this shirt...since its Friday...and Halloweenis Monday...eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Cute, right?!?! Whatever, I think its adorable.
Anyways, I was walking around my office and the following happened:
CW: I don't get it. Why would anyone Trick or Treat at a Police Box....thingy?
Me: *stupid stare* CW: Is that a British thing? Do they do that in Britain?
Me: *confused stare* CW: I for one wouldn't walk up to a police box...you never know who could be lurking around or INSIDE!
Me: *wtf stare*
I finally said..."Its a...its a Doctor Who reference...." CW: *stupid stare* What's that...?
Me: *AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!*
Ha! I explained, in as calm...not a super weirdo nerd way possible, what Doctor Who is.
CW: oh you and your one season shows.
Me: *thump*
Sorry I passed out.
Me: What?!?!?! Its been on the air for over 50 years!!! CW: oh, well I've never heard of it so it mustn't be that popular.
Just kidding. But how can you not know...even just in name...I have a T.A.R.D.I.S. on my car. I pre-ordered tix to the 50th viewing in my area and talked about it. I talked about meeting Jenna Coleman for a Photo Op at WWNOLA. I wear fandom shirts and make fandom references (not just about DW). And.......what rock have you been living under?!!?!? Sorry, sorry, sorry...I forget not everyone watches things other than reality TV....
No but really, just by me being...well me...they should have at least known the name....we've worked together for 12 years....
So I am reading a book and in the book one of the "nerdy" characters is said to always say "Shazbot" when something goes wrong. You know like you would normally say $hit or ¢rap. I recognized the term but I couldn't place it so I Googled it... and now I want to claw my eyes out!!!
Shazbot is ancient sex maneuver invented by Egyptians on slaves when the pyramids would not be finished in time. Egyptians would grab gooseberries of slave and begin to slowly massage
until fruit explosion. The resulting mess was called shazbot.
What...WHAT....WHAAAT!?!??! Ahhhhh my eyes!!! Right I get it...I think...internet trolls right?!?! Like this really wasn't a thing...right?!?! I am leaning towards internet trolls, bunch of @$$holes....but oddly amusing.
Further down the page I found what I was actually looking for. It was an exclamation usually said by Mork from Mork and Mindy...you know Robin Williams being hilarious. That is where I knew it from! I used to watch reruns of Mork and Mindy all the time. That was some funny $hit! Nanu nanu and whatnot.
So while I can appreciate the posts about faith and stuff, I think some go a little over board with it. And that is where my cynicism rears its ugly head. If posting scripture makes you feel go, go ahead... somethings...are...concerning.
For instance when I see "Hello Jesus, I'm ready to come home"...
...I get a tad concerned. Because to me that is asking for death. If you are telling your Messiah you are ready to come home, you are asking for entrance into heaven...RIGHT?!!?! So you are saying you are okay with dying. Look being a good person so you go to heaven and saying you are ready to go home...I just..what? And while I can appreciate acceptance of death...if you are a healthy person under the age of 60...you shouldn't be ready to die! You have two kids...why would you want to leave them!?!?!? This seems very cult-esq...don't drink the koolaid...
I can understand this if you are terminally ill...in chronic pain...or just really really old but why before then? Why accept death when you have so much more life to live?!?! Yea anything can happen but wouldn't that be a slap in the face to our higher power...since you are ready to give up on the life you have left to go "home"...?
Then to post "It ain't over, till God says its over. Keep fighting"...that is contradictory...right!?!?!? Maybe I am being a stickler or too literal but I can't help it. In one sentence you are welcoming death (like an old friend), while in the other you are saying don't give up...keep fighting. Talk about mixed messages.
Just an observation. This is also a person that tells me Jesus talks to them all the time...not like I hear his message in the world around me...I mean like literally TALKS to them when they are praying...so yea..I dunno. Hearing "voices" concerns me. Either they are a prophet or well...never mind.
