So I've been having a rough go of it with work. I haven't been working from home as much as I should be because people are dumb and don't understand we DO NOT need to drive over an hour to an office to get $hit done. Anyways, that will be changing soon. The worst part is the TRAFFIC. One f**k up on the interstate and your day is shot. Not unlike today where it took me 2.5 hours to go 48 miles. And I took a detour. I feel bad for those poor souls still stuck on the shut down I10.
Anyways when I got home I wanted to work out but I felt bad for the pups so I opted to take them for walkies. I was listening to a Podcast (Undisclosed - Adnan Syed) trying to decompress from the day. We were literally 15 feet from the front door when I heard a yell. I turned around just in time to see a retriever looking thing running right for us. He had escaped his owner who had another leashed dog and was yelling "NO!!!!".
Now, I am not scared of dogs and he looked adorably friendly with his tongue lolling out the side of his mouth but he was loose and mine were leashed. I yeeeeeped and tried to pull them away but free boy kept coming. So I am basically on the ground leaning to pull them with all my might but to no avail. Everything seemed okay and there was tail wagging and sniffing so I was saying good boy, good boy. I wasn't really worried about the little one she just wants to play but Speedy can be protective. Then free boy got a little too personal with little one and there was growling so I said help, help (like he wasn't already trying) and pulled mine back but he kept coming. Mind you the owner is trying but failing to restrain free boy because he still has another pup who is barking because it wants to join in the fun.
Then the little one some how Houdini-Ed her way out of her harness. Seriously I have NO F**KING CLUE how but she takes off with free boy hot on her tail. They are now chasing each other around the middle of the street barking, as I say "crap crap crap she's free!" ...apparently stating the obvious is my MO today... Mind you we both still have other dogs who are leashed and barking because they are not part of this insanity. I got ahold of itty bitty and he caught free boy by the tail. I was trying to walk away but she was like NO MY NEW FRIEND!!!!
Finally his wife/girlfriend/sister comes running up, out of breath with a harness. I dragged mine back inside as they were apologizing behind me. After I got them settled I realized I was TOTALLY rude, so I walked back out. I really wasn't angry with them just worried about reactions. They apologized profusely and I said its okay...seriously it was fine. You just never know how a leashed dog will react to one that isn't... *whew* it all worked out and we finally went for walkies 😳😂🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
In Other News - On our walk, some jack@$$ leaned over and hissed at my dogs like a f**king psychopath. Then yelled at me because Speedy went from ears up, tail wagging and whining to ears back, tail down, fur up, and growling. Ummmm you started it you rancid cumshot!
Most people will say life gives them Lemons at some point in their life, and the common response is "Make Lemonade". Well I want to say I am tired of making lemonade! Why can't life give me a better 'fruit'? I hope you can learn something or at least be amused by some of the off the wall things that happen in my life. I will also post random product reviews, movie reviews, book reviews, etc...I am a random person and like to keep all my lemons in one place.

They both take place in Space...it could totally work!
Conversation:
Me: Why can I watch some movies a million times and never get really tired of them?
Hubs: Dunno, I'm not like that
Me: *glare*
Hubs: What movie were you watching?
Me: *distracted* Guardians of Gallifrey
Hubs: Huh?
Me: *still distracted* You know with the Racoon and the Tree?
Hubs: Oh...I was thinking with the Time Lord and Police Box
Me:*blank stare* *thinking* *realization* *hysterical laughter*
Hubs: Are you okay?
Me: *trying to talk and failing* *crying laughing*
Hubs: *concerned stare* NOLA Gurl...?
Me: OMG...OMG...OMG someone write this! Not me...someone else...who writes better...
Hubs: *knocking on my head* Helllllooooo
Me: Time Lord...Star Lord...close enough...
Hubs: What?!?
Me: There was a living tree lady in Season One...Oh, and she could still be Nebula...
Hubs: *guiding me down the hall* Bed time for the wifey
Me: *wistfully* I don't want to go
Hubs: *blank stare*
Me: *uncontrollable laughter* I am funny! *snort*
Hubs: When was the last time you slept...?
Clearly, my imagination runs wild when I'm tired...exhausted...sleep deprived...

No one better ever say "you don't understand, you don't have kids" to me again!
Because let me learn you something. You see pets are similar to kids. Actually they are kids, just with fur. They can't tell you whats wrong and then they vomit in your lap. And you can't do anything to comfort them, just clean up...take them to the vet if necessary and hope they get better.
We had another "Oh my God what is that?!?!!?" starting at 5AM yesterday and it got more and more insane from that point forward. We were awakened by convict getting sick (dogs vomit, not concerning)...and Speedy promptly trying to help him clean it, "Ahhhhh *gag* stop stop stop stop stop!!!!". Then maybe two hours later both yacked up "stuff" in the yard. Eventually both were fine, they ate breakfast, still seemed fine. We left.
We returned (gone maybe 4 hours). I opened the side door, turned around and looked at the hubs and said "something...um, something is wrong...it smells REALLY bad in here". We walked into the living area trying to breathe as shallow as possible...only to find Convict...still in his kennel...no pan...in the foyer (which is at least 20 feet out of the office and around a corner)...surrounded by $hit & vomit. "If I wasn't so grossed out, I'd be impressed". We let him out, only to realize he had somehow MANGLED the door to the kennel, WTF?!? He bent the wires!!!!
As we set to the task of cleaning the 2nd $hitstorm of 2015 we marveled at how he did what he did. There were minimal marks on the walls, he had almost no excrement on him, and aside from being grossed out seemed fine. As the night progressed we realized he was not fine and we took him to the vet. An emergency vet visit and a bunch of fluids later and he looked like he was gonna be okay but we weren't getting to bed before midnight.
Fast forward to 3AM, I slowly woke up from the strangest dream. I was stuck in a maze and if I took a wrong turn it got stinky, but if I took a correct turn it smelled better. The further I got into the maze the less not stinky it got. I opened my eyes and gagged! I don't have a bad gag reflex but this was PUTRID. I saw speedy attacking his butt, some string or something was poking out. He was having an issue...I got up to turn on the light and slipped, "OMG ahhhhhhhhh". He had explosive...you know...and it was everywhere. We got a towel and helped him...then set to the task of cleaning and mopping the floor...did I mention it was 3AM?!!??! Then convict threw up water and I realized we forgot to pick up the dishes and he wasn't supposed to have ANYTHING till morning, "well $hit!". From then on, every 30 minutes or so one of them woke us up. At 6AM the rest of whatever was in Speedy's @$$ came out and he promptly ran around the house excited and barking...clearly he was going to be A-OK *fingers crossed*.
It is now 10AM, I am running on maybe 2 hours of sleep, MAYBE. Speedy still good...Convict not feeling well at all. He's old...we are worried.
Moral of the story, just like kids, Dogs will put ANYTHING in their mouths, REGARDLESS of age. I watch them very closely but even my watchful eye missed something. It is clear to me they got into SOMETHING! We just can't figure out what (hopefully one of our @$$hole neighbors didn't do anything stupid). Second moral of the story, I am their momma. So I am home with them because 1) I work for an amazing company that lets me work from home and 2) I couldn't leave them...they seemed so sad!
So now I am sitting here working...watching...comforting as much as I can....while the rancid smell burned into my nostrils makes me nauseous. Seriously, we scrubbed every inch of floor and lower walls in our house and it still smells like a Pot-O-Gold up in this b**ch! So don't tell me I don't understand because I don't have kids! I understand...it sucks...you feel helpless and guilty and hurt for them. If I feel like this with my pups, me+sick child could be interesting.

Hey Doc, it hurts when I move...
...well dear, don't move. *face palm*
Easier said than done. In case you were wondering it is nearly impossible to NOT use your abdominal muscles. I mean you can try to be a human blob but EVERYTHING requires your core...including breathing (and peeing)!
So I had this thing done to help with other things...and now I am wondering what the F**K I was thinking because now I am in a constant state of OOOOWWWWW.
It's been almost a week. I was told to "take it easy" for a few days, don't use the abs but then I could go back to most of my routine just no heavy lifting or sexy time. Ooooookkkkkaaaaayyyyy, easy peasy right...WRONG! So, so wrong and people just don't seem to understand my issues.
1. I look like death. I am pale and bruised. Pale because God only knows. Bruised from all the flipping needles. Shots, IVs, taking blood (TWICE)...take your pick.
2. Every movement requires conscious thought. I rolled on my side in my sleep the other night and woke myself up moaning in pain.
3. The doc only said a few days with limited activity so no one seems sympathetic to my whole moving hurts mantra...or the if you touch me I will punch you then writhe in pain because punching requires ab use. Yes a few days to be a blob but the recovery is 4-6 weeks!!! So get that through your head people, I may be moving but I am not okay. I am very, very far from okay.
4. My insides feel like they were scrapped with a dull blade. Because they WERE! Okay maybe not a dull blade...maybe a laser BUT it still effing hurts, okay?!?!
5. I coughed yesterday and thought I was going to die. I was like this is it, I am going to rupture something because I have a tickle in my throat. Goodbye cruel world.
6. Today I sneezed and I thought my uterus came out of my belly button. Hmmm that can't be normal. Oh well, lets take another pain pill *manic laughter*.
7. 3 days after it I needed a shower (and was allowed to take one), "cat baths" weren't working. I had no help. I got the "well what do you want me to do bathe you?" Um actually yes that would be great seeing as MOVING effing hurts! Whatever, what doesn't kill me makes me stronger and also makes me want to nut punch you so you are in an equal amount of pain.
8. 5 days after the thing I had a sharp pain. Like I was stabbed, repeatedly in the same spot. Sitting, I was good. Standing, laying flat and breathing, FML. I burst into tears because I just didn't want to hurt anymore. Do you know what I got...ZERO sympathy. I mean absolutely none. I got a "you should be extra careful driving to work". Um what? "If it gets worse call the doctor". Well DUH! Can't I get a little sympathy?!?! I am not a needy person but a "there, there" would have been AMAZING! By the way, it is trapped air. Not gas...air trapped in my abdomen that has no where to go. I have to wait for my body to "re-absorb" it...YAY :P
9. Ya know what, F**k all you people. God help me if I need a c-section for any future kids...I may have to ask my mom to move in until I am recovered. She seems to be the only one that "gets it".
a. If I hear one more, "what do you mean walking is uncomfortable" or "its just walking, how
bad can it be?" I may go postal. This is not my hubs by the way.
10. My poor animals are so confused. They don't understand why mommy wont let them near her. I mean, I go all ninja on them if one even looks like they may want to touch me, which by the way requires a quick motion and usually ends with my writhing in pain. The little cat wanted to play the night of the thing and decided the best way to get my attention was to bonsai off the back of the couch onto my stomach. To say I screamed is an understatement. She ran and I didn't see her again for almost two days. Now they both carefully touch me to let me know they want to cuddle. Smart little boogers.
Anyway, the thing is I blame the peeps that spoke to my "caregiver" after the thing. I was out of it...I remember very little. They were great, don't get me wrong, I just don't think they quite explained what was going to happen very well. Yes, I needed to lay low for a few days and he got that but for weeks after I was going to be recovering. Meaning I can't do what I normally do. Not just "heavy lifting" and no "sexy time". It should have been more, "trust your body. If it feels wrong, don't do it." Which I swear I heard someone say but I can't recall. I really can't be active...my insides are still healing and I am constantly exhausted. If I do too much too fast, I'll be worse for wear. So yes, that includes cutting up a veggie and putting it in the microwave. It hurt a$$hole. I am not being whiny! Using my abs hurts and unfortunately that includes almost everything at the moment, including BREATHING.
P.S. Thank God I have a semi high tolerance for pain. I'd be drugged 24/7 otherwise.

I'm a time traveler!
Or the person at the radio station forgot to change the auto message that runs between songs.
But I'd rather think I am a time traveler. Oh oh maybe I was traveling and then had to forget but I got dropped off 5 days later or 3 days earlier than planned. So now I'm all confused because when I woke up this morning I SWORE it was Monday (booooo Monday). But as I was driving to work the radio station I was listening to said "Welcome to the Friday Free for All".
I was still in the process of fully waking up. I mean I was awake enough to drive and be alert but anything more cognitive than that...I think you get the idea. I seriously thought I slept through the week OR I had one hell of an elaborate dream on Thursday night and I hadn't experienced the weekend just yet. Which if the latter was the case then WHOOHOO! It wasn't. I changed the station and heard the regular Monday morning schtick on another morning show. *le sigh*.
Stupid radio DJ mussin up my morning.

I hate cats!
Okay, not really. I love MY cat but the strays outside make me batty.
I was exhausted yesterday. We had a family emergency the night before and I barely slept so last night I crashed! I was out cold before 10:30 which is super early for me. As I was having lolly pop dreams and whatnot something happened. I was jolted out of a dead sleep by convict barking incessantly. So what do I do? Well I flop my arm over the side of the bed and say "shhhhhhh, its ok...*blah blah blah*". Well he wouldn't give up. He kept barking, whining, growling. OMG!?!? Then I faintly hear hubs say "did you hear that?" Uhhhhh let me remove my handy dandy ear plugs. Suddenly the world is full of noise...which included the sounds of something dying, huh...am I still sleeping?
No...no wait...is that a cat...? My cat was sleeping on my butt. Ummm outside...yes, that sounds right...must be outside. Give me a break, I was still 1/2 asleep. We waited it out thinking oh it will stop on its own. WRONG! One *meoooooooow* *hissssssss* *growl* *angry screaming cat noise* turned into at least two, maybe three. Then it got louder, more aggressive. "What the hell are they doing out there!?!??!" *bang, skitter, bang* more crazy cat noises...Uhhhh did something just hit a window?!?! That's it, where is the pellet gun? All the while crazy dog, is going crazy.
Well I was in my knickers...so going out front didn't seem like a smart idea. In our brain dead state we resorted to banging on the window. *Frankenstein voice* "stooooooop. shhhhhhh. gooooo awaaaaaaay." *bang bang bang*. Didn't work. I know, lets get a flash light *click, click* "ahhhhhhh its bright, its bright!!!" Damn you reflective solar screen. Maybe if I go in the back yard and bang on the fence they'll go away. *la la la* "ahhhhh I stepped on a slug, I stepped on a slug" *hopping around on one foot, trying to get the gooey carcass from between my toes*. Mind you at this point I still hadn't put my pajama bottoms on (or shoes, clearly) but my t-shirt was long-ish so whatever. Apparently all of that finally spooked them and they ran off.
I had no idea until this morning that someone actually got a video of the cat fight.
Cool beans, right?!? I think I need more caffeine...NOLAGurl out.

Do dogs have nightmares?
I mean I would assume that is possible since I am 100% certain they dream.
I ask this because around 3:51AM this morning I was awakened by something. My arm was hanging over the side of my bed and I felt something nudging my hand. So I instinctively swatted it away thinking it was one of the animals just being curious. A few seconds later I was nudged again a little more forceful. My brain woke up and I was like "Oh no!!!! One of them is going to be sick or has to go out, quick get up before you have to clean up a mess!!!" I opened my eyes to pitch blackness, I just bought blackout curtains so there is ZERO light coming in from outside. *CRAP* I started saying, "hold on buddy, I'm coming" as I scrambled to find my cell. When the phone lit up my side of the room I saw the most terrified looking dog. His ears were back, his eyes were huge and he was using all of his self control to NOT jump in the bed (they are not allowed in the bed)...he looked so scared. My first thought was when did Convict become Courage the Cowardly Dog....
Oh my God! Can y'all please leave me alone!?!?
So needless to say I really never got back into a good sleep and I am pretty sure my cat spooked the dog. My alarm went off at 6AM and my animals were bright eyed and bushy tailed...I was more droopy eye and frizzy hair *yawn*.
As I was dressing for work my cat came tearing into the room. She skidded to a halt right by my feet and let out the loudest, longest MEOW, I have ever heard from her. Then she turned tail and skittered off *bitch*, its actually really funny because we have tile and it takes her a couple seconds to get traction.
I am hyped up on caffeine at the moment. . . it's going to be a long day. Oh yea and my husband and the older dog SLEPT through all of this!!!!!

So I sat up and started petting him. "what's wrong buddy??? It's okay. Come on, lay down. Lets go back to sleep." Every time my phone light would go off he would shove his head into my hand...when I turned it back on he relaxed. This went on for what seemed like an eternity!!! He moved away from me so I figured we were done. I got all comfy laying on my side *ahhh relax* when suddenly I felt like I was being watched. . . . I clicked my phone light on and saw a face on the edge of my bed...
Holy crap dog, what is your deal. He whined and whimpered and huffed so I pet him again. Poor dog looked frazzled. I had to get out of bed and sit on the floor on his bed until he got all comfy. Then I was FINALLY able to go to sleep...except I couldn't...all I could think of was what the heck could have scared Mr. Daredevil like that...what is in my room...is it a huge bug who cannot be named...is it a ghost...maybe he had a nightmare...do dogs have nightmares...wonder what kind of nightmare he had...I think you see where this is going. My brain was going a mile a minute...guess I'm never gong back to sleep.
I have no idea how long I laid there but I finally started to drift into dreamland. *bang, bang bang, skitter skitter, hiss, bang bang* WTF I'm up, I'm up. Something jumps on top of my chest *ahhhhh*, I clicked on my phone
Christ on a cracker cat, WTH is your problem?!?!?!? She was puffed out, ears back, and making all sorts of weird noises. And as fast as she was there she was gone. Great! Is she hunting something or did she get into the nip again... Well since I was awakened so suddenly I now had to potty... should be a private, relaxing moment...HA not in my houseOh my God!
