So you just happened to be running right behind me...?

This...world makes me so freaking paranoid.  I've been trying to stay active and it's really hard because the sun sets so freaking early!!! I finally just sucked it up and started running at dusk/night.

Can I tell you as a female, that is f**king scary!  I live in a safe area.  I have active neighbors who are outside all the time.  It was just after christmas so the area was lit up with lights.  But I am smallish and know full well no where is actually safe.

That's why as I was running the other day I got so effing freaked out!

I run listening to music but I can still hear the world around me which is why I about had a heart attack when I realized I heard another set of feet hitting the concrete.  I was doing speed intervals but didn't want to slow down.

I couldn't see anyone in my peripheral but it was very dark with only the street lights every so often where I was.  And I wasn't near my house, I was in the back of my neighborhood. So I decided to change up my route.  As I did, I looked over my shoulder and saw...no one.

So now I think I am insane and paranoid.  I slowed a bit but kept going.  Then I heard it again.

I muted my music.  I could hear my heartbeat pounding in my ears and could feel my breathing getting labored, I was tired and scared.  I turned a corner and saw some people outside so I slowed down.

I was cracking my neck when I noticed someone WAS about 100 or so yards behind me.

At this point I was about 3 blocks from my house so I took off.  I was sprinting (I do NOT sprint).

I made it home in record time, 100% ignoring the prompts from my running app.  As I ran up my driveway my shadow was running by.  He was probably 6'3" and skinny fit, young-ish and possibly attractive (it was dark!).  He said breathing heavily, "Good Run! I didn't think I was gonna keep up today!" and he kept going.

 What...what just happened?!?

2 days later I left about 10 min later than normal bc work is stupid.  As I  was coming down one of the streets I saw him come out of a house on my route.

My assumption is we are on a similar schedule.  I am fairly certain he runs behind me EVERY DAY and I was just a little late that night so I noticed him.

Its like some weird unorganized running group...of two. Maybe he doesn't want to run alone or maybe he doesn't want me to be alone.  Maybe I should ask...

It really is sad how scared I was initially. It's warranted, you really don't know what kind of crazies are out there.  But at least now I seem to have an unofficial running buddy.

I just wanted to relax!!!!

So I've been having a rough go of it with work.  I haven't been working from home as much as I should be because people are dumb and don't understand we DO NOT need to drive over an hour to an office to get $hit done.  Anyways, that will be changing soon.  The worst part is the TRAFFIC.  One f**k up on the interstate and your day is shot.  Not unlike today where it took me 2.5 hours to go 48 miles.  And I took a detour.  I feel bad for those poor souls still stuck on the shut down I10.

Anyways when I got home I wanted to work out but I felt bad for the pups so I opted to take them for walkies.  I was listening to a Podcast (Undisclosed - Adnan Syed) trying to decompress from the day.  We were literally 15 feet from the front door when I heard a yell.  I turned around just in time to see a retriever looking thing running right for us.  He had escaped his owner who had another leashed dog and was yelling "NO!!!!".

Now, I am not scared of dogs and he looked adorably friendly with his tongue lolling out the side of his mouth but he was loose and mine were leashed.  I yeeeeeped and tried to pull them away but free boy kept coming.  So I am basically on the ground leaning to pull them with all my might but to no avail.  Everything seemed okay and there was tail wagging and sniffing so I was saying good boy, good boy.  I wasn't really worried about the little one she just wants to play but Speedy can be protective.  Then free boy got a little too personal with little one and there was growling so I said help, help (like he wasn't already trying) and pulled mine back but he kept coming. Mind you the owner is trying but failing to restrain free boy because he still has another pup who is barking because it wants to join in the fun.

Then the little one some how Houdini-Ed her way out of her harness.  Seriously I have NO F**KING CLUE how but she takes off with free boy hot on her tail.  They are now  chasing each other around the middle of the street barking, as I say "crap crap crap she's free!" ...apparently stating the obvious is my MO today... Mind you we both still have other dogs who are leashed and barking because they are not part of this insanity.   I got ahold of itty bitty and he caught free boy by the tail.  I was trying to walk away but she was like NO MY NEW FRIEND!!!!

Finally his wife/girlfriend/sister comes running up, out of breath with a harness.  I dragged mine back inside as they were apologizing behind me.  After I got them settled I realized I was TOTALLY rude, so I walked back out.  I really wasn't angry with them just worried about reactions.  They apologized profusely and I said its okay...seriously it was fine.  You just never know how a leashed dog will react to one that isn't... *whew* it all worked out and we finally went for walkies 😳😂🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

In Other News - On our walk, some jack@$$ leaned over and hissed at my dogs like a f**king psychopath.  Then yelled at me because Speedy went from ears up, tail wagging and whining to ears back, tail down, fur up, and growling.  Ummmm you started it you rancid cumshot!

It is confirmed!

Sorry sorry sorry to harp on this.  So I made a new friend.  My new friend was extremely tall next to me in my chucks.  So I asked her (not rudely) how tall she was.  She said "oh I'm 5'10" but I have on 3" heels".

So that puts her at 6'1" (right?!).

I was eye level with the boobies.  No kidding.  We were chatting and my eyeballs were just above the center of the tata.  And I mean they were nice tatas.  How do you not stare at tatas that are legit eye level?!?  I tried to look over her shoulder but I wasn't tall enough.  So I tried to make eye contact but I am a half pint sooooo yea the struggle is real!  She totally smacked me at one point (not hard)...

...Because I kept looking around like I wasn't listening but I was listening I just didn't know where to look!

She was awesome about it calling me her little American Girl Doll (hey now!)

Anyways if she was 6'1" with heels on and my eyes were mid chest then it is safe to assume my conclusions from this post are highly accurate.
