Wait...that's an insult to animals. So like there is this almost epidemic happening with the Flu. Everyone seems to be getting it. So far I have been INSANELY lucky. I am taking immune boosters just in case. I don't care if they are proven, they make me feel better...placebo effect...whatever.
Anyways, going out in public you run the risk of being infected. Well I might not want to be sick but like hell I was missing Comic Con. So I took my stuff and ventured out.
For the most part I didn't hear anyone severely ill. Here and there you would hear/see a sneeze/cough but nothing drastic. But just in case I had my handy dandy false sense of clean (hand sanitizer) and was a little crazy with using it. But I was touching things other, possibly sick, people touched so better safe than sorry, right.
Towards the end of our day at WWNOLA I was thinking out loud to my hubs how nice it was that there wasn't any OBVIOUSLY ill people. Can someone slap me next time I make a stupid f**king comment like that?!?! Because that is just BEGGING the universe to f**k with me.
There I was walking down one of the many exhibitor aisles looking at all the fun stuff when I went through a "crossing". Some man walking perpendicular to me full on coughed....INTO THE SIDE OF MY FACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He didn't attempt to turn. He didn't attempt to cover his mouth.
Just hacked up a lung within 12 inches of my face. He coughed so hard my hair blew in the "wind".
And not just a *cough, cough*, it was like one of those "wet", I might have an infection, deep chest coughs.
I was so grossed out I literally froze in place.
Before I could freak out some other patron dressed as some creepy zombie looking thing smacked him on the back of his a head and said "what's wrong with you?!!?!?!". He beelined it WITHOUT apologizing. The zombie looked at me and said "that's how virus' spread" and walked off.
I lost if laughing, like full belly laugh with giggles. A ZOMBIE told me, that's how virus' are spread. I don't know if he was trying to be funny but me and at least 3 other people who were nearby thought it was freaking hilarious.
"How did the Zombie apocalypse start?", well you see some @$$hole went to Comic Con sick. "Son of a B**ch!".
I crack myself up.
Also, we are not talking like a kid or young person. We are talking a GROWN @$$ MAN who should know to cough into his elbow!!!!
Most people will say life gives them Lemons at some point in their life, and the common response is "Make Lemonade". Well I want to say I am tired of making lemonade! Why can't life give me a better 'fruit'? I hope you can learn something or at least be amused by some of the off the wall things that happen in my life. I will also post random product reviews, movie reviews, book reviews, etc...I am a random person and like to keep all my lemons in one place.

Lucky Dogs for Lunch
I know its a couple days late but this weekend was soooooo much fun. Wizard World was PACKED Saturday...P.A.C.K.E.D. We saw Grinches and Doctors and Harley Quinns and Wolverines and and and. And pick something the cosplays were on point. Although I must say my absolute FAVORITE was a guy dressed as King Jaffe Joffer!!! I don't have a pic bc my phone was misbehaving something awful (stupid cracked screen!) BUT he looked like f**king James Earl Jones. His cosplay was perfection.
Oh if you don't know that would be the King from Coming to America....
A close second was Wolverine. This guy was Logan and you can't convince me otherwise.
See...seeeeeeeeeeeee. And he was very nice about everyone asking for pics.
I will also mention the PLETHORA of f**king people dressed as Pennywise. I have no pics because I basically beelined it away from them but the costumes were accurate...VERY accurate *shudder*.
Anyways, I was super stoked for my pic, right? Right! And can I just say David Tennant is like the nicest freaking person ever. He was like hyper puppy excited the entire time. He took pics Friday evening and twice Saturday with Autographs in there someplace and a panel. And the energy never faltered.
I took my pic during the first session Saturday. I was probably the hundred and something person he saw and still just happy happy. Like how do you do that? I know its part of the job but it seemed 100% genuine.
So anyways, here's my account. I was in line forEVER but that's cool, I kept myself amused by people watching, of course! I was wearing a t-shirt...one of these years I am going to dress up! That is happening dammit! Anyways, I was in a Star Wars/Doctor Who mash up shirt.
So I finally get to the front of the line "yay"!!!! He was friendly with everyone and all laughing and smiles. It gets to my turn and I get a "point at" (Maybe a 'okay your turn'...maybe a 'nice shirt'...maybe a weird tick...no clue) and a crazy enthusiastic "Hellooooo, Good Morning!!!!" (I don't know how to type out a Scottish accent properly) and my response.. "Hello" with the biggest stupidest cheesy smile. I am so f**king lame...hahahaha. Then a 1, 2, 3 picture and you are off.
Observations:
- where does he get his freaking energy?!?!
- JFC he is significantly taller than I realized...or I am just short...or both.
- No really I fit under his armpit
- Seriously though, he had to lean over to put his arm around me
- He is so accommodating to fans
- a couple had him do a gender reveal and he was crazy excited
- some ladies had him hold a thing like he was crocheting and it was adorable
People always say don't meet your favorite whatevers because they never live up to your expectations but this was not the case for like the 3 seconds hahaha. The panel was great too. Again, INSANELY excited. How does he do that?!?!?!
So all in all a crazy fun day! Saw Stan Lee from a distance. Saw Jason Momoa by being a creeper (shoosh). Side note - I knew he was tall but good lord he is a big guy! Saw Rowena (Ruth Connell-Supernatural) just chilling in her Autograph booth. Saw Thomas Ian Nicholas taking selfies and looking like he was having a great time. The Fonz...the freaking FONZ (Henry Winkler) was there. I didn't get to meet any of these people because that would have been crazy expensive but just seeing them was super cool! Also, ran into Rob Kerkovich walking around (Sebastian-NCIS NOLA), told him hello but I didn't ask for a pic...because I am lame. He is so super sweet!
I love love love going to these. Its so much fun. Just being there, walking around, surrounded by other fans...just that its worth it. Meeting/seeing your favorite celebs is Lagniappe.
So now I have a pic with David & Jenna. Who will I get to meet next time?!?!?! Maybe I should venture away from Doctor Who....NAH! Or maybe...depends on who is coming.
Just some sights we saw (wish I had more of the cosplays...stupid phone!):

I can't contain her...she is breaking freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
No no no ...not an Alien (check please)....my inner fangirl...she is trying to escape
In 3 days-ish I'll be at WWNOLA. Yay!!!!!!! I missed last year (boooooooooo) but we got our tix for this year (yaaaaaaaay).
I'd be excited just for that but I am suuuuuuuuuuuuper excited about my photo op. I try not to be weird but I am totally being weird. He's one of my favorite actors!
I'm sure I'd be the same way if I took a pic with any of my other favs. Probably. More than likely. Yea, no, for sure. I mean I wanted to meet Stan Lee
but $120 for his signature.......I'm good.
And apparently there is a panel. I didn't know we had panels. I don't remember panels. I am going to attempt to attend said panel. I've never been to a panel. I'm going to stop saying panel.......PANEL.
Nah...okay maybe a little...shhhhhh
Anyways, I'm having a moment...Ex-cah-uuuuuuuse me!
Its still in the 30's down here, I think my brain is a bit frozen so I'm going wrap myself in more blankets and attempt to type...I can't feel my fingers!
SIDE NOTE - I just read this in the "rules"....."❿ There is absolutely no personal photography, no videography and no autographs in the photo bay. No exceptions. Also absolutely no kissing of the guests or asking to be kissed by them."
Is that something people do or did?!?!?! That's creepy weird...DON'T BE CREEPY WEIRD. Remember, these are REAL people...with REAL lives...REAL families...that's just.......

I think I pulled a muscle being weird....
So yesterday...ya know Thanksgiving here in the States...I opened Facebook and made the absolute stupidest noise I have ever made!
I follow Wizard World. And I always see all these super cool guests going to other cons but few come here to NOLA. We get some but not toooooo many. Anywhos the only one I was willing to pay money for was Jason Momoa. I like him plus how funny would it be seeing me next to him (see this post) but I wasn't sure I could justify the $85 to take a pic.
Anyways, yesterday...the day of THANKS...I saw that one of my FAVORITE CELEBS is coming to WWNOLA and I geeked out. I squeaked and then I said "$hit, I wonder how much that is gonna cost...*sad face*". The husband was like who is coming...?
I very nonchalantly said "oh, um, David Tennant". Ya know, like no big deal. When inside I was like
He said "Uh huh, maybe you'll get it for Christmas". Really?!?!?! Then he said no, probably not. DOH!
Anyways I looked and apparently Wizard World was having a Black Friday Promo *SWEEET*. If I bought an anything Black Friday, I get a discount!!!! So I thought about it and said I'd make a decision in the AM when I wasn't drunk on food intake.
So this morning I decided that I would totes regret NOT doing a photo because reasons....then I realized it was $104...OUCH. Can I justify that?!?! I can do it, maybe...I dunno. But with the Discount, its $89...wait I can justify that, its under a $100.
That's when I bought a photo op with one of my fav actors and then I fangirled a little...maybe a lot...and now my neck/back hurts...doh! Oh and I told the sig other to MAKE SURE HE IS OFF so we can go this time.
That's it...nothing that interesting but I am kinda freaking out...this is sooooooo cool! I love Cons!!! They give us little nerds a chance to meet/take pics/get autographs from our fav heroes (and villains).
So yea Happy Thanksgiving...I am definitely thankful for seeing that post!

That is sooooooooooooooo not fair!!!
I know I know actors have other engagements and such BUT we didn't get Matt Smith here for NOLACC or WWNOLA or whatever you call it because of a scheduling conflict. But NYC can get them BOTH. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Hahaha jk....well I am disappointed for me (ha!) but excited for the peeps up there that CAN go.
Can I just tell you the level of fangirling I'd be doing?!? Obviously pre photo op because I don't really do the crazy fangirl in public thing. Although I'd probably be 50 shades of red for the pics. Seriously though, I would WITHOUT.A.DOUBT figure out a way to afford that. Just saying! OMG what if it was a dual photo op *thump* sorry I just fell over thinking about it.
Luck you New Yorkers, I am soooooooooooooooo jealous.
UPDATE - $850 for a dual photo?!!?!? WTF, did I read that right?!!??! Is that normal??? I am new to this whole photo op thing. That is more than my house note!!!!!! Are you out of your MINDS?!?!?! Geez...I mean I know they are "high demand" but holy crap! Wait its more than that...its $850 + 75.48 (fee)....$925.48. That...that is my house note plus Entergy & water. WTF, over?! F**k that...I'd love a photo (if I was in NYC) but that whole financial responsibilities thing just slapped me in the face....

*pow* right in the fandom, I love this goofy idea so much it hurts a little
So I went to Wizard World NOLA this past weekend. Before the show began I got a Groupon email.
I'm sorry what?!?!? Doctor Who Burlesque, you say. Who doesn't love a good Burlesque show?!?!? No really I've been to a few, super neat. Is that weird? Anyway, burlesque and Who, OMG!
So I opened it.
Does that....does that say Doctor Who-Ha?!!??! OMG I just shot hot tea out of my nose! They saw the opportunity and they took it!!!! Oh and look a female Eleven...cute!
I wanted to know more. *click*
My first thought, "OMG I want to go!". My second thought, "does that say 'wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey burlesque adventure through space and time'? Scratch that I NEED to go!"
Alas, I realized it was for 9PM...on a Sunday night...in the City not far from Downtown... "Dammit!". *le sigh* As much as my little nerdy self would have loved a Who themed sexy dancing thing, there was no way I could justify that. Ya know work and all. Stupid adulting getting the way of my fun *grumble, grumble*. Also, the convention ended at like 6....what would we do for three hours...I mean we could have found something but that would probably cost MONEY...so no. Not to mention we planned on going EARLY to the Con, mainly bc my photo-op was for 11:30 and because we could do more exploring before the crowd poured in. After that you just people watch *hehehehe*.
So we did not go, "boooo". And it was tempting. It was advertised the entire time we were in the Con. I wonder how it was? Horribly cheesy...I hope so!!!

Yay, I finally went!!!
My little geeky heart almost exploded :) Granted WWNOLA isn't huge (yet), but it is my first Comic Con type adventure so I was so flipping excited!!! Of course people who don't understand my nerdness were BAFFLED why I would pay $40+ just to get in and then more if I wanted to meet anyone famous (which down here seems to be A LOT of Walking Dead peeps).
I didn't pay any extra for meet & greets/photo ops/autographs but I was perfectly content just observing. I am a people watcher and there are so many sights to see, I was loving it! My husband was trying really hard not to fan boy when we saw Brett Dalton signing at his booth. I mean he was a mere 20 feet away, I had a perfect view of him. Then not far behind on the next aisle was Tom Felton. There was a plethora of Walking Dead peeps but I don't watch the show religiously so I only knew a few. I was sad Norman Reedus had to cancel (at least that's what I was told), I may have paid to meet him. Not just because he is Darryl but because one of my all time fav movies is Boondock Saints!
Moving on to the other attendees! So many wonderful cosplays. I was impressed and made a decision that I will dress up one of these days but I can't figure out who/what I will cosplay as...hmmmm. I don't have pics. I wish I did!!! Anyways some of my favs were a guy dressed as Jareth (Goblin King) . It was perfect right down to the obvious bulging package...o_O. Yes I looked...it was difficult not to! A girl dressed as the cyber doctor. It was so good. She had the clothing near perfect and she had the metal cyber doohickey on her face and it even lit up! I wanted to stop her and tell her how amazing her cosplay was but there were too many people between us and she walked away. Of course there were storm troopers and Jedi and Vaders galore. I saw a few Castiels that all seemed to walk around with a confused puppy dog look making them that more awesome. There were quite a few Doctors of various eras but none topped the Cyber Doctor (can you tell I was impressed?!?). Oh, there was a "red shirt" Trekkie. His shirt was all torn up and he had an arm sling and looked thoroughly beat up. Creative! There really were too many to name but these were the ones that stood out to me, on the day I was there.
It seems the NOLA stop gets bigger every year. I hope it continues to grow! Because I am assuming the bigger it is, the more likely we'll be to get even bigger celebrities, panels, etc. Which since I went this time, of COURSE I will be attending in the future. SDCC is still on my bucket list. I WILL go there one day!
