Lucky Dogs for Lunch

I know its a couple days late but this weekend was soooooo much fun.  Wizard World was PACKED Saturday...P.A.C.K.E.D.  We saw Grinches and Doctors and Harley Quinns and Wolverines and and and.  And pick something the cosplays were on point.  Although I must say my absolute FAVORITE was a guy dressed as King Jaffe Joffer!!!  I don't have a pic bc  my phone was misbehaving something awful (stupid cracked screen!) BUT he looked like f**king James Earl Jones.  His cosplay was perfection.

Oh if you don't know that would be the King from Coming to America....
A close second was Wolverine.  This guy was Logan and you can't convince me otherwise.
See...seeeeeeeeeeeee.  And he was very nice about everyone asking for pics.

I will also mention the PLETHORA of f**king people dressed as Pennywise.  I have no pics because I basically beelined it away from them but the costumes were accurate...VERY accurate *shudder*.

Anyways, I was super stoked for my pic, right?   Right!  And can I just say David Tennant is like the nicest freaking person ever.  He was like hyper puppy excited the entire time.  He took pics Friday evening and twice Saturday with Autographs in there someplace and a panel.  And the energy never faltered.

I took my pic during the first session Saturday.  I was probably the hundred and something person he saw and still just happy happy.  Like how do you do that?  I know its part of the job but it seemed 100% genuine.

So anyways, here's my account.  I was in line forEVER but that's cool, I kept myself amused by people watching, of course!  I was wearing a t-shirt...one of these years I am going to dress up!  That is happening dammit!  Anyways, I was in a Star Wars/Doctor Who mash up shirt.

So I finally get to the front of the line "yay"!!!!  He was friendly with everyone and all laughing and smiles.  It gets to my turn and I get a "point at" (Maybe a 'okay your turn'...maybe a 'nice shirt'...maybe a weird tick...no clue) and a crazy enthusiastic "Hellooooo, Good Morning!!!!" (I don't know how to type out a Scottish accent properly) and my response.. "Hello" with the biggest stupidest cheesy smile.  I am so f**king lame...hahahaha.  Then a 1, 2, 3 picture and you are off.

Observations:
- where does he get his freaking energy?!?!
- JFC he is significantly taller than I realized...or I am just short...or both.
- No really I fit under his armpit
- Seriously though, he had to lean over to put his arm around me
- He is so accommodating to fans
     - a couple had him do a gender reveal and he was crazy excited
     - some ladies had him hold a thing like he was crocheting and it was adorable

People always say don't meet your favorite whatevers because they never live up to your expectations but this was not the case for like the 3 seconds hahaha.  The panel was great too.  Again, INSANELY excited.  How does he do that?!?!?!

So all in all a crazy fun day!  Saw Stan Lee from a distance.  Saw Jason Momoa by being a creeper (shoosh). Side note - I knew he was tall but good lord he is a big guy!  Saw Rowena (Ruth Connell-Supernatural) just chilling in her Autograph booth.  Saw Thomas Ian Nicholas taking selfies and looking like he was having a great time.  The Fonz...the freaking FONZ (Henry Winkler) was there.  I didn't get to meet any of these people because that would have been crazy expensive but just seeing them was super cool!  Also, ran into Rob Kerkovich walking around (Sebastian-NCIS NOLA), told him hello but I didn't ask for a pic...because I am lame.  He is so super sweet!

I love love love going to these.  Its so much fun.  Just being there, walking around, surrounded by other fans...just that its worth it.  Meeting/seeing your favorite celebs is Lagniappe.

So now I have a pic with David & Jenna.  Who will I get to meet next time?!?!?!  Maybe I should venture away from Doctor Who....NAH!  Or maybe...depends on who is coming.

Just some sights we saw (wish I had more of the cosplays...stupid phone!):

I was in line and couldn't get their attention

Cool set up at one of the booths WWTW

Okay this is taking their little "spat" to a whole new level...

That's just horrible...
....when you first read it.  I can't be the only one that read it like that.  Right?!?!!?  It should read "Chris Evan, Robert Downey Jr. surprise 'Captain America' fan who has cancer".  Otherwise it sounds like Civil War went way overboard just to give some poor kid cancer.  I mean come on Cap, don't be like that "*whispers* Hail Hydra"

It is actually a very sweet story *sniffle* but I still can't get past the fact that the headline sounds like Captain America and Iron Man gave a kid cancer!
Sorry...sorry...NOT SORRY.  Peace, I'm going work so I can leave to go run and......EAT FESTIVAL FOOD (of the Mediterranean descent) ...and beer...and wine...mmmmmm...

It's November 20th, OMG!!!!

Why is this exciting?  It's not...unless you are me...or people like me....who like the things I like *big cheesy smile*

I don't know how I am going to function tomorrow.  I have to be at a race at 7:30AM, meaning I have to get up really flipping early.  Why is this a problem?  Weeeeeeeellll *tugging ear* you see there is this show (shut up) that I might have mentioned I have been REALLY wanting to watch.  And *fiddling with hair* itrealeasedonNetflixtodayAhhhhhh, I'm so excited, I'm shaking like a chihuahua.

There is a high probability I will binge watch a ridiculous amount of episodes once I am released from my supplier of funds necessary to live (also necessary to afford an internet package and Netflix)

Netflix CLEARLY knows my patterns...

*thud* sorry, might have fallen off the chair.  Those suckers just roll away if you aren't careful!

At first I thought "oh its cause its a new show" then I realized I don't get notifications for all the other "new shows"...just the ones that involve Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Superheros.  *ehhhh hehehehe*

So that's all...that's why I am a bouncing ball of energy.  Maybe I shouldn't have had that 3rd cup of coffee.

I'm offended, that you are offended by that thing that isn't offensive

Everyone needs to grow a set...thicken their skin...quit looking for something to be offended by.  Stop being so unnecessarily confrontational.  Not everything that is said, written, depicted, whatever is meant to piss you off.  Yea somethings are directed at specific "groups" and I get being put off by that.  But many things, even those done in a tasteless manner, are not directed at you or your people or your gender or whatever.  STAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHP!

So I read this quote somewhere by a certain famous person about a certain PSYCHOTIC character he is playing.

"It’s a fascinating character, and it’s a fascinating thing to be handed, to kind of unpick. If that was your lot in life, if everything you requested was given to you, then how would you cope with that? Would you be able to maintain any kind of moral integrity? I don’t know if many of us would, frankly. So I felt a certain sympathy for Kilgrave, certainly more sympathy than everyone else who just seems to think he’s a bastard!"
—  David Tennant, The Scotsman interview

I understand what he is saying...there is absolutely nothing offensive about it.  But the "easily offended" (people looking to start $hit just for the sake of starting $hit) are losing their f**king minds...

They are saying the most bizarre things.  Surely they must be joking...right?  Guess...not...on various boards and discussions, I've read that he is now sympathetic towards rapists (what?!).  That he is understanding of domestic violence (What?!?!).  The list of things he is now "supportive" of was exhaustive and 100% ridiculous (WHAT!?!!?!).  I am certain some were trolls messing with the idiots posting this ridiculousness but come on.  Are you people f**king mental?!?! I've not met the man but I've seen interviews and read about other people's encounters.  I have  REALLY hard time believing he would be any of those things.  Also at least read ALL of the interview before you say anything.... ya dumb@$$e$...*grumble, grumble*.  Not to mention, I seem to recall other speculations being "said" after other roles were announced or whatever.

Its a job.  He is giving his opinion on a character he is portraying.  It is FICTIONAL!  He is an actor (apparently a really good actor).  He is not actually the Doctor, he is not actually DI Hardy, he is not actually Kilgrave, etc, etc, etc.  He is a real person, with a real life that has little correlation with those roles except acting the part when needed.  You people are just looking for something to b**ch about.  Get over yourself and just enjoy the array of characters he brings to life....even the creepy, give you nightmares one.

I know other actors are "accused" of the same kinds of stuff  because of varying roles and it isn't okay to do it to them either...good lord people learn the difference between reality and fiction.

UPDATE - Watch This all the way to the end.  It's only 2 minutes-ish.

JFC, that was just...CREEPY!

So the trailer came out today for the new Netflix Show Jessica Jones.  Like I've said before, I don't know much about the comic but it seems VERY interesting and I like the girl that plays Jessica.

With that said this is our first REAL look at the show, not the bits we were shown in the teasers.  We see more of Luke, which again I don't know much about him but I think I will like him.  We finally get to "experience" Kilgrave and holy $hit, I feel like I need a shower now.  He is so f**king creepy!  And its weird because I am used to David Tennant as a more lovable/likable (albeit sometimes grumpy) character.  Which I guess this will just show his amazing acting abilities, right? Right! Anyways, after that trailer *shudder*.  It's not like we got a huge dose of him but enough to make me uncomfortable in the best way.

This series looks to be rather dark and from what I gather the villain in the comics is one disturbing mofo so if we get even just a taste of that in the series it will be...well disturbing.  I.can't.wait.  Again, the voice is immediately recognizable but holy creeptastic Batman!  I mean freeson level freak you out (that is Cajun French look it up) .  I dunno man, I think its the mind control thing.  Not being in control of yourself is terrifying.  Especially if the person in control is a sadistic psychopath.  An attractive sadistic psychopath but a psycho nonetheless.

I've watched more than 1/2 of Daredevil (FINALLY) so hopefully by November 20th I'll be ready for this one.  I've had it in my head I must finish Daredevil first so yea.  Who else is geeking out right now?  It was extremely hard to contain the fangirl at my desk.  I just wanted to squee with delight.  I love love love super hero stories!  You should totally check out the trailer.  LOOK AT IT!

I'm a super hero junkie...I need help...from a super hero...or a villain...I'm not that picky

Okay so for real though.  I wasn't into reading comic books as a kid...mainly because we didn't have a store near by and no one would buy them for me because I was a girl.  Oh woe is me.  But as a kid, I did know of most of the big ones thanks to TV, cartoons and some movies.  I don't have a loyalty to Marvel or DC...I like quite a few from both universes, although at times to do tend to lean more towards Marvel...I think their characters are snarkier which I love (who doesn't love Deadpool?!?!?).  Anyways, basically anything that comes out super hero related I will at least give a try.

I already watch Gotham, Arrow, The Flash, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Agent Carter and soon Supergirl.  Back in the day I totally watched Smallville.  And of course I've seen most of the movies.  With that said when Netflix started with their Marvel shows I got a bit excited.  I am trying to find time to watch Daredevil (There's never any TIME! *said in my best Jessie Spano impression*) and although I didn't really know about Jessica Jones before, I am interested to see what it's all about.  The first teaser promo was interesting.  She demolished her poor alarm clock and appears to have a drinking problem...maybe.  So she has some sort of stregnth.  I looked up all the info I could find after that and watched the other promos as they came out.  Sounds to be a cool concept, I shall watch...after I watch Daredevil dammit.

Then yesterday they released another promo hinting at the villain.  I knew who was playing the villain.  How could you not?  Everyone was flipping out.  "OMG DT is the purple man".  Me thinking "what on earth is the purple man??? At least he's my favorite color..."  I am so out of the loop, sometimes!  So I looked that up and jfc he sounds like a total creep.  Then I watched the new promo and it gave me the heebie jeebies*creeper alert*

I said I would like him to read me a bed time story...not give me nightmares, dammit! (tee hee hee).  Seriously though, give it a listen.  You can recognize the voice immediately but it sounds so...so sinister...I can't wait to watch this!
